How to value a One Piece Card Game card

Practical guide

One Piece Card Game launched in 2022 and its market grew very fast. Being recent, there aren't decades of printings to untangle — but the variant system ("parallel" and alternate art) still makes it easy to confuse a common card with its version worth several tens of euros.

1. Code and set

Every card has a code like "OP01-024": the prefix indicates the set (OP boosters, ST starter decks, PRB premium, etc.) and the number the position. The code is printed at the bottom and should always be noted: it's the basis of identification.

2. Base, parallel, alternate art, manga art

  • Base version — the standard artwork, full frame. It's the baseline price reference.
  • Parallel (alt art) — same card, same code, different full-bleed artwork (no text box covering the art). Generally worth much more than the base, sometimes the most expensive card in the set.
  • Manga art / special — manga-panel-style graphic treatments or special editions, smaller print runs, higher prices still.

Community sources sometimes give the parallel a slightly different name from the base: what counts is the code + the artwork, not just the name.

3. Leader cards

Leader cards (horizontal, one per deck) have their own market: there are few per set and some are in high demand among competitive players, which supports their price regardless of graphic rarity.

4. Language

Japanese, English and other Asian-language printings are separate markets, with different release timing for the same set. The English version of a set generally comes out months after the Japanese one: during that window the prices of the two languages can diverge quite a lot.

5. Then condition

One Piece cards have a dark back and a finish that marks easily: edge whitening and surface micro-scratches are the most common defects. For a given code and variant, condition is the final multiplier — see how card grading works. For an estimate you can try a scan: the set is cross-checked against a public database aligned with the game's official site.
